Past Projects
An exploration of various projects from the past.
Solar pagoda
Surrey Hills
When the team set out to develop the solar Pogoda, the aim was to create an outdoor dining shelter that felt both uplifting and quietly resourceful. Using bifacial translucent panels, they designed a 4 kW solar roof that would bring soft, natural light into the covered space while simultaneously generating clean, renewable energy. The Pogoda needed to feel open and welcoming, a place where people could gather comfortably beneath a canopy that worked in harmony with its surroundings.

Achieving this balance required careful planning from the outset. Panel specifications were selected in advance, and once construction began, every step from framing to electrical integration was carried out with precision. Each translucent panel was positioned to optimise light flow and energy production, allowing the structure to come together steadily day by day. The result is a dining area that feels bright even in shade, its roof quietly harvesting power as guests enjoy the space below. The finished Pogoda stands as a subtle, functional addition that blends naturally into the environment while making sustainable energy a seamless part of everyday living.
Guineverre Guest Farm Deck
South Africa
When co-founder Daniel Hawkey travelled to South Africa, he flew in specifically to build a new garden deck at Guinevere Guest Farm during the short eleven day window between guest changeovers. Surrounded by open landscapes and gentle hills in the Cape Winelands region, Guinevere Guest Farm is known for its quiet atmosphere, generous outdoor space and warm welcome. Daniel approached the project as the creation of a place where guests could slow down, gather and enjoy the view. The intention was to build a deck that felt natural to the garden and complemented the relaxed character of the property. Working to a precise schedule meant that every stage of the build required planning and focus. Materials were organised in advance and once on site Daniel oversaw the entire process from layout to finishing. Each board was measured, cut and fitted with care, allowing the structure to take shape smoothly day by day. In just eleven days, the deck was complete. Daniel flew home immediately after the final touches were finished, leaving a new outdoor space ready for guests to enjoy, a quiet addition that now feels completely at home within its surroundings.
